CPET seeks to uplift community standards and eradicate poverty, providing sustainable education services to underprivileged children.
OUR STORY
CPET is an independent entity established to sustain education and
entrepreneurship in Sankhuwasabha district. Tashi Sherpa the second generation leader, is taking new steps
to make their efforts to sustain development.
Partner NGO Cunina Nepal was started by Mr. Pasang Sherpa with over 20 years experience
in the sector, with a vision to empower Sankhuwasabha district with a
gift of education; and now Tashi seeks to take his father’s vision
forward, by economically empowering his community through
entrepreneurship opportunities.
In January 2017, we started the construction of a total of eight houses in the Green Village. Only tourists are hosted in these homes. Here, the students of the hospitality training can put their knowledge into practice and complete their internship by helping the visitors of the Green Village. After their internship, they will be ready for a job in the tourism sector.
The second project is an investment in agricultural training, because the Nepalese mountain communities eat almost the same thing every day. The students will learn how to grow vegetables that are hard to find in the region. These vegetables will be to make meals for the tourists and the leftovers will be sold at the local market. This way, the project will become self-sufficient.
CPET will use the money earned from the tourist residences and the agricultural training to invest in the quality of the education at the Cunina Boarding School.
